starsky & hutch fan fiction

I started reading Starsky & Hutch slash long before I watched the show. I'd heard about them being the closest of friends, of partners, that I'd ever learnt of, and neither the fan fiction nor the show did disappoint. The obvious affection, the obvious willingness to do anything for the other enthralled me utterly. They touched, hugged, cried on each other's shoulder constantly and finished each other's sentences. "Starsky vs. Hutch" broke my heart, "Sweet Revenge" mended it. David Soul and Paul Michael Glaser stressed how much their characters cared for each other and didn't rule out the interpretation that the relationship between Starsky and Hutch might be seen as more than simple friendship. Many fans have taken that road since the 70s and produced some amazing stories. This is certainly my feel-good fandom, because whatever happens, whatever one of them might discover he feels for the other - he knows that their friendship will survive. As for the movie, I haven't watched it and I don't intend to. It's not my kind of funny.

The main pairing on this page is
David Starsky / Kenneth Hutchinson.

Summary: Gunther wants revenge, and the plan he sets in motion threatens not only Starsky and Hutch's jobs, but also their very friendship. A night in a drugged haze leads brings the partners closer to ruin than anything ever before, and recovery from this might be the hardest struggle they ever faced - together?
Review: If there's ever been a story representative of a fandom, this is the one for Starsky & Hutch. In the aftermath of "Sweet Revenge", Starsky and Hutch come closer to each other than they'd ever thought, and although it takes quite a lot of time and angst, in the end - of course - they find in each other the lover they'd always been looking for. "Total Eclipse of the Heart" left me virtually speechless for hours. That's the kind of novel we all long for and wish to be able to write one day - deep, intelligent, emotional, heartbreaking and full of joy. Flamingo is a truly exceptional writer. I spent a full night in front of the computer because I couldn't stop reading... and, in the morning, considered it a fair trade for no sleep. I cannot recommend this enough - read it. Outstanding.

Title: Crossroads offsite Story Length: ~ 83 KB
Series: none Rating: NC-17
Category: Slash Warnings: none
Pairing: David Starsky / Kenneth Hutchinson Time Frame: Season 2-3 (Flash-Forward to Post-Season 4)
Genres: Angst, Pre-Relationship, Supernatural Recommended: 20 Sep 2006
Summary: What can the future hold for Starsky and Hutch? When Starsky gets a peek at a future where lines were crossed and choices made, will he choose that future, or will he decide some boundaries are better left alone?
Review: "Crossroads" is well-written as well as refreshingly cliché-free, and explores a new topic in the Starsky & Hutch fandom - time travel. Starsky visits a psychic and gets a brief glimpse of a future he can now either work towards or attempt to prevent: him and Hutch as lovers. Unfortunately, while he does make a decision, Sarah stops her tale immediately afterwards. Still, even without a sequel, "Crossroads" is perfect as it is and uses both time dimensions to complement rather than detract from each other, in the end leaving the reader with the promise of a bright future.
