Carikube ~ Stories found at Carikube's
Nest
Author Profile ~ Australian; female; thirty years old; Administration
Manager during the day; aspiring writer some other times; owner of two
pet dogs (I share a third) and four laying hens. I've been writing Sentinel
fan fiction since 1997 (on and off) and hope to someday have my original
fiction published, once I write it that is. My stories are predominantly
dramatic, angsty and I aim to show the growth and emotional maturation
of a character over time. Beyond all though, I write for myself and I write
so that others may enjoy.

- I~L~A~S~C Series (Australian AU)
- Inchoate -- A chance encounter
between an anthropologist and a police detective turns into a case of being
in the wrong place at the right time. Rated PG-13 for language.
- Deception -- Jim and Blair work
together to solve a case of murder and betrayal, where love is a weapon
used to deceive. The course of the investigation awakens painful memories
for Jim, while Blair is trapped fighting old demons of his own. Disabled
by their pasts, both men fail to recognise the threat to their future and
that inattention could cost Blair his life. Rated PG-13 for language, violence
and adult content.
- Denial -- Facing the past is too
difficult when the future is so full of uncertainty. Denial is the safest
option and it's the path that Blair unconsciously chooses. But hiding from
the past, unfortunately, does not make it go away. Rated PG-13 for language,
violence and adult content.
- On an Island, Alone -- Travis is
cut out of Blair's life - deemed unable to understand and subsequently
avoided. Jim fares little better. In desperation, the two men band together
to save their friend. But is it too little, too late?
- Captured -- Blair is warned that
someone close to him -- someone who claims to care for him -- is planning
to harm him. He refuses to heed the warning, and the fact that it might
be Jim, and is unprepared when the threat becomes a reality.
- Fracture -- After Blair's abduction
at Frederick Jenkin's hands, his self-confidence is shattered. Convinced
that his days as Jim's Guide are numbered, Blair attempts to find ways
for Jim to manage without him.
- Desert Soul -- Jim misinterprets
a danger that threatens Blair's life and in a fearful over-reaction he
harms the anthropologist. Afraid of what he has done, Jim seeks help from
Sharna Edwards, Blair's former healer. But far from putting his mind at
rest, her work reveals a greater aspect to the Sentinel and Guide dynamic
than either man had ever imagined.
- Realignment -- With his confidence
restored, Blair is faced with the dangerous frustration of having his story
disbelieved by the police while Frederick Jenkins is viewed as a hero and
set free.
- Trust -- Blair's situation worsens
as the disbelief in his version of events widens beyond the police arena.
Meanwhile, Jenkins' taunt to Jim that he will kill the anthropologist despite
all of Jim's best efforts to stop him, is soon to become a reality.
- Sacrifice -- A life will be sacrificed
so as to ensure the Sentinel's future and to safeguard all that he has
been chosen for.
- Into the Next Life -- Jim, Blair
and Megan protect two children from their father, a man solely intent on
saving his children by killing them. Deeply affected by the case, Blair
is touched by the children's plight and compassionate of the father's motivations.
But when Blair is chosen to die with them, his compassion is eclipsed by
self-preservation.
